Leek Wootton Gardening Club

Leek Wootton & District Horticultural Society has been in existence for over 150 years. The first flower show was recorded in August 1868 and was held in a field in a effort to encourage

“useful and ornamental gardening in this Parish.”

Further shows raised money for the Hospital and Nursing Association and continued until the First World War.  The link below takes you to the original Leamington Spa Courier report of 1868.

The Society decided at the 2023 AGM that going forward, we would be known as Leek Wootton Gardening Club, in the hope of making ourselves more approachable to the wider community.

The present Society still donates funds and supports the local community.

Sarah and June from Hintons Nursey came to the village hall and brought along a selection of fuchsia's, geraniums, petunias, and some fillers, all the materials needed to make an attractive hanging basket. Some new tips were taught and the group took home an individual basket each to nurture through the summer.
