Leek Wootton Gardening Club

Leek Wootton & District Horticultural Society has been in existence for over 150 years. The first flower show was recorded in August 1868 and was held in a field in a effort to encourage

“useful and ornamental gardening in this Parish.”

Further shows raised money for the Hospital and Nursing Association and continued until the First World War.  The link below takes you to the original Leamington Spa Courier report of 1868.

 

 

The Society decided at the 2023 AGM that going forward, we would be known as Leek Wootton Gardening Club, in the hope of making ourselves more approachable to the wider community. 

 

The present Society still donates funds and supports the local community.

What's On

AGM - 13th March 2024

We will be holding the AGM at Leek Wootton village hall on Wed 13th March at 7.30pm. All are welcome.

Avon Wood Open Day - 18th May 10am - 4pm

The Environment Group advertising guided tours around a newly formed woodland in Leek Wootton. Entrance to the wood is off the B4115/Coventry Road and tours are at 10am, 12am and 3pm. More information on the website: www.avon-wood.co.uk

The Parish Summer Fete

The Summer Fete will take place on Saturday 15th June at 2pm - 4pm in the village hall.

Annual Show & Fete 2024 -
Saturday 17th August - Leek Wootton Village Hall.

The highlight of our year is the Annual Show & Fete which is held on Saturday 17th August. After the school hosted us for last year's show, we are back to our normal venue in the village hall for 2024.
It is always well supported by the village and has classes for adults and children including flowers, vegetables, fruit, cookery and crafts. A schedule can be found in the Annual Show tab.

The show opens to the public at 2.30pm, prize giving is at 4pm and an auction of produce is held at 4.30pm.
Refreshments and side stalls including plants stall, skittles, produce stall will all be present.

Wreath making Workshop 2024

After a successful Wreath making session in 2023, we have decided to repeat the event again in 2024, with a morning and afternoon session.
The event will take place on 1st December 2024 The morning session will run from 10.30 - 12.30pm and afternoon 1pm - 3pm.
